Students must be 5 years of age BEFORE August 1, 2024 Kindergarten enrollment for students who are in the Franklin Smith Elementary attendance area will have their screening and enrollment on Thursday, March 14th between 12 p.m. and 7 p.m. or Friday, March 15th between 9 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. Call the school office at (816) 874-3640 to schedule an appointment. Appointments will take approximately 45 minutes. Please Bring the Following on the Day of Your Appointment: 1. Your enrolling kindergartner - we will welcome your child to his/her new school! 2. Enrolling kindergartner's birth certificate (state copy, must list enrolling parent/guardian) 3. Parent/Guardian photo ID 4. Current immunization record 5. If applicable, divorce decree, parenting plan, and/or pertinent adoption or foster paperwork 6. Two of the following items and they must display the home address and parent/guardian name: Gas Bill* Electric Bill* Water Bill* Lease agreement or mortgage statement Construction Contract - including expected completion *Current bills (within the last 30 days). No shut-off notices/delinquent bills, and the bill must include the occupant's name and address.

 

New Student Enrollment 2024-2025

All families new to the Blue Springs School District can start the new student enrollment process. Please start the process by calling our Department of Public Safety at 816-874-3330.

Monday – Thursday: 8 AM – 3:30 PM

You will need two of the following items to verify your residency:

  • Gas Bill (within last 30 days) *
  • Water Bill (within last 30 days)*
  • Electric Bill (within last 30 days) *
  • Lease Agreement or Mortgage Statement (within last 30 days) *
  • Signed and dated sales/construction contract showing possession/closing dates (if applicable)
  • Guardian’s Photo ID
  • Student’s Birth Certificate
  • Divorce Decree, Adoption Papers, or Foster Paperwork (if applicable)
  • Only 2 of the * items are required.
